About the Author
Marc Barton trained in medicine in the United Kingdom and worked in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care for 14 years before retiring from clinical practice to become a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor.
He maintains an active interest in medicine through his work in medical education, where he continues to teach and write. His years in acute care shaped his interest in the turning points that reshaped modern practice: outbreaks, surgical risk, and the decisions that forced medicine to evolve.
Through Past Medical History, he examines the people, the physiology and the context behind the standards now taken for granted.
